Characteristics

Leaf-lamina up to 23 × 4 mm., linear to oblong-linear, apex acute, base cuneate, margin serrate, sparsely stellate-pubescent on both sides and with a few minute glands; petiole 1–3 mm. long, sparsely stellate-pubescent and glandular; stipules 3–5 mm. long, lanceolate, obliquely falcate, sparsely stellate-pubescent and glandular.

Perennial herb, up to 300 mm tall. Leaves narrowly linear to oblong linear, 10-23 x 2-4 mm. Inflorescence a 2-flowered cyme. Peduncles, pedicels and calyx sparsely glandular and stellate-pubescent. Petals 4-6 mm long. Flowers yellow to pinkish red.
Flowers in pairs in the upper axils; peduncles 8–10 mm. long, slender, stellate-pubescent; bracts 1–3 mm. long, linear-lanceolate, stellate-pubescent and glandular; pedicels up to 10 mm. long, stellate-pubescent.
Dwarf perennial herb c. 8 cm. tall with a woody rootstock; stems sparsely stellate-pubescent and with a few minute glands.
Calyx 4 mm. long, campanulate, stellate-pubescent and glandular; lobes 1·5 mm. long, triangular-acuminate.
Stamens with cruciform-tuberculate pilose filaments c. 1 mm. long; anthers c. 2 mm. long, pubescent.
Petals orange, c. 4 × 2 mm., obovate, margins scarcely inrolled, puberulous near the base.
Ovary obovoid, glandular-puberulous; styles c. 1·7 mm. long, glabrous.
Ripe capsules not seen.
