Straggling or erect suffrutex, 0.3-1.2 m high; branches dark brown; vegetative parts subdensely pubescent with stellate hairs from a scaly, glandular or raised tubercular base, hairs whitish, straw-or gold-coloured. Leaves petiolate, variable, obovate to oblong, apex rounded and mucronate, base rounded; roughly stellate-pubescent. Stipules varying from subulate to leaf-like. Inflorescences of 1-or 2-flowered cymes clustered at apices of branchlets; indumentum of pedicels as above. Flowers 10 mm long, yellow to orange. Calyx inflated, urceolate, 5-lobed at apex, laxly stellate-pubescent. Petals longer than calyx, with apical portion reflexed. Flowering time all year. Fruit a capsule as long as calyx or shorter.
Coarsely velvety, erect, twiggy shrub to 2 m. Leaves densely hairy, obovate to oblong, scarcely toothed above. Flowers in dense, terminal clusters, yellow or orange, throat narrow and petals spreading, calyx inflated and tubular.
