Characteristics

Erect, succulent shrub, 0.45-1.50 m high, pale, glabrous, stems flexuous. Leaves sessile, ± clasping, obovate to oblong, obtuse, up to 20 x 10 mm, entire, rigid, glaucous. Capitula single, yellow, up to 12 mm in diam.; pedicels terminal, up to 35 mm long; involucral bracts 5-7, broadly oblong or ovate, acute, basally connate. Flowering time Aug. Pappus of many delicate bristles. Cypselae very hairy.
