Characteristics

Plants mostly 120-180 mm high. Corm ± globose, slightly asymmetric, ± 10 mm diam.; tunics woody, imbricate. Stem straight or arching toward ground, unbranched. Leaves 4, lower 2 basal, with well-developed blades reaching up to base of spike, (2)4-6 mm wide, sword-shaped to falcate, margins and main vein visibly thickened; upper 2 leaves cauline and largely or upper fully sheathing. Spike mostly 2-flowered; bracts green, outer 9-13 mm long, inner slightly shorter. Flowers diurnal, rotate, light purple to pink, evidently not scented; perianth tube 8-10 mm long, cylindric, dilated at throat; tepals subequal, elliptic, 9-12 x 4-5 mm, spreading. Filaments ± 2 mm long; anthers 4.5-5.5 mm long, yellow; pollen ?yellow. Style branches ± 8 mm long, shortly exceeding anthers in closed flower. Capsules and seeds unknown.
