Characteristics

Plants 30-50 mm high. Corm globose with obliquely flattened side, 9-11 mm diam.; tunics dark brown, ± concentric layers. Stem unbranched, smooth. Leaves 3, all basal, spreading or drooping, ± as long to twice as long as stem, up to 90 mm long, ± linear to falcate, 1.4-3.5 mm wide, soft-textured, midrib and margins barely thickened. Spike 1-, occasionally 2-or 3-flowered; bracts 9-10 mm long, soft-textured, pale green or becoming membranous above, inner membranous with 2 green keels. Flowers white, outer tepals lightly flushed mauve outside; perianth tube funnel-shaped, ± 10 mm long; tepals ovate, ± 10 x 3-4 mm, obtuse, spreading. Filaments ± 4 mm long; anthers ± 5 mm long, shortly tailed, pale yellow; pollen whitish. Style branches spreading over tepals, reaching nearly to anther tips in closed flower.
