Characteristics

Plants 120-150 mm high. Corm ± bell-shaped with flat base, 10-12 mm diam.; tunics of ± woody, overlapping layers, margins irregularly broken with edges frayed. Stem unbranched, sheathed at base by a pale, membranous cataphyll. Leaves usually 4, lower 2 ± basal, blades plane, straight, ± erect, ± 1/3 as long as stem, upper leaves cauline, shorter, uppermost entirely sheathing. Spike straight, 5-to 8-flowered, secund; bracts green, 7-10 mm long, inner sometimes slightly longer than outer. Flowers ± nodding, ± salver-shaped, white; perianth tube straight, cylindric, 9-12 mm long; tepals subequal, narrowly obovate, 9-10 mm long, spreading. Filaments diverging, ± 1 mm long; anthers spreading, 2-3 mm long, ?white. Style dividing in middle of perianth tube, branches ± 4 mm long, reaching to just beyond mouth of tube to base of anthers.
