Liana; stems inconspicuously puberulous, glabrous, weakly lenticellate. Leaves opposite, elliptic to ovate-elliptic, acuminate at the apex, rounded to obtuse at the base, 14-16 cm long, 6.5-8 cm wide, thinly chartaceous, glabrous on the upper side, glabrate beneath, the midrib sunken on the upper side; major lateral veins 5 or 6 pairs, arcuate-ascending, faintly loop-connected toward the apex; petioles 1-1.5 cm long, bearing 2 pairs of small glands. Inflorescences terminal, the umbels arranged in racemes, the branches, peduncles and pedicels densely and shortly reddish-brown tomentose; peduncles to ca. 3 mm long; ped-icels to ca. 1 cm long (in fruit), articulate. Flowers not known; fruiting calyx with glands oblong, to ca. 4 mm long. Samaras (3.5-)4.5-5.8 cm long, 1.5-2.1 cm wide, well attenuated toward the base, weakly appressed-pubescent to glabrous, the pubescence denser on the dorsal margin and on the body, the dorsal thickened margin straight or slightly curved, the ventral margin thin, gradually curved to the base, usually with a prominent lobe near the base, the body 7-8 mm long, semi-obovoid, dark reddish-brown, transversely ridged about midway with small-er longitudinal ridges.
