Suffrutex parvus a basi ramosus, caulibus flexuosis stellato-pilosis; foliis petiolatis fere ad basin 5-partitis lobis pinnatifidis vel bipinnatifidis subtus stellato-pilosis supra glabriusculis, stipulis lineari-subulatis plq. divaricatis vel patulis simpliciter pilosis; floribus plus minus longe pedunculatis; involucri phyllis c. 8 lineari-subulatis acutis stellato-pilosis, sub anthesi sepalis triente brevioribus, distinctis; calyce ad quadrantem inferiorem in lacinias oblongo-lanceolatas acutas extus slellato-pilosas diviso; petalis 2-plo et paulo ultra calycem super-antibus in parte sub aestivatione tegente pilis stellatis inspersis; capsula apice apiculata pilosa; seminibus gossypinis. Rami 11-20 cm longi basi lignescentes teretes. Petiolus 0.7-1.5 cm longus, laminae lobus medius 1-2 cm longus lacinulis lineari-oblongis acutis; stipulae 6-8 mm longae integerrimae. Petiolus 2-4 cm longus teres, flores nutantes. Involucri phylla 8 mm longa, basi 1-1.5 mm lata. Calyx 1.4 cm longus lobis erectis. Petala 3 cm longa, 1.8 cm triente superiore lata roseo-purpurea. Capsula 1.2 cm longa.

Epicalyx of 6 or 7 linear, pilose bracts. Calyx with ovate-triangular lobes, united at base. Petals obovate, white to pale pink, purple-centred. Staminal tube 4-10 mm long; filaments up to 3 mm long. Flowering time Oct.-Apr. Fruit a subglobose capsule, pointed at apex. Seeds with white to brownish silky floss.
