Male flowers 1–4, fascicled on the arrested shoots, pedicels up to 3 mm. long.. Sepals 4; outer narrowly elliptic, ± blunt, glabrous save for a tuft of pubescence at the apex, more rarely hairy, 3 mm. long, 1 mm. wide; inner deltoid, glabrous, nearly equalling the outer.. Corolla 6–12.5 mm. long; lobes ± obtuse.. Female flowers 1–3 together on pubescent arrested shoots; pedicels 8 mm. long.. Outer sepals oval or obovate, sparsely pilose, about 8 mm. long, 6 mm. wide.. Corolla 6–7 mm. long.. Fruiting pedicels attaining 15 mm.; enlarged sepals orbicular, (1.0–)2.0–2.3 cm. long, 1.0–1.7 cm. wide, usually decurrent on to the pedicels, glabrous; capsule 5 mm. in diameter, 4-valved and 4-seeded.
