Characteristics

Plants erect, scape without bracts, nearly glabrous to moderately pubescent with short soft hairs, 30-250 mm high; leaves glabrous. Flowers: Sepals glabrous, 1-3.5 x 0.8-2.5 mm. Petals entire, broadly ovate, membranous, 3.5-6.5 x 1-4 mm, white, with bright green at base and 2 broad longitudinal purple or maroon stripes. Lip membranous, divided into 7 unequal lobes, outer pair and midlobe longer than other 4 lobes, throat sometimes papillate, 3-8.5 x 1-6 mm, white with maroon or purple stripes on the limb; spur broad, strongly inflexed under the lip, 2-5 mm long. Gynostemium arched over the entrance to the spur, lime-green, anther thecae purple or maroon.
