Characteristics

Plants erect, scape without bracts, slender or stout, with long hispid reflexed hairs, 90-240 mm high; leaves sometimes withered before anthesis, with dense covering of squamules or short stiff hairs, rarely glabrous with hairs on the margins only. Flowers: Sepals densely hirsute, 1.5-3 x 0.5-1.5 mm. Petals entire, carnose at apices, 3.5-7 x 0.5-1.5 mm, cream to lime-green. Lip carnose, with 3-5 (-7) lobes, midlobe the longest, lobes comprising lh to half the length of the whole lip, colour as for petals; spur curved, 1.5-4 mm long. Anther thecae chestnut-brown.

Leaves 2, flat on ground, up to 28 mm wide, with or without scales above, not withering before flowering. Inflorescence a lax to dense hairy raceme; flowers secund, many, greenish yellow. Sepals subequal, connivent; dorsal sepal 2 mm long. Petals linear, 4-5 mm long. Lip 7 mm long, divided into 3-5 subequal lobes; spur 3 mm long. Flowering time Sept.-Dec.
