Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m tall; indumentum ± grey, the hairs coiled. Leaves: stipules 1.5–2 mm long; petiole 4–9 mm long; lamina very narrow elliptic, lanceolate or narrow-oblong to lorate, 3–9 cm long, 5–15 mm wide, margin ± flat, upper surface smooth with hairs scattered or confined to midrib, lower surface covered by a close tan or whitish indumentum, greying with age. Inflorescences racemose of 4–12 flowers, reduced inflorescences sometimes present, peduncle 5–20 mm long; pedicel 1.5–6 mm long, bract inserted at or shortly below base of calyx; bracteoles inserted distal to base of calyx; bract and bracteoles ovate to lanceolate, 0.8–2.8 mm long. Calyx 3.5–5.5 mm long, tube 2–3 mm long, upper lip 3.5–4.5 mm wide. Standard 7–11 mm long, flare green-yellow; wing 2.5–4 mm wide. Pod densely hairy, sessile. Aril of seed 3–4 mm long, hardly expanded distally, hilum 2–3 mm long.
