Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m tall; indumentum brown to white-grey, the hairs appressed or slightly divergent. Leaves: stipules 0.5–2 mm long; petiole 2–4 mm long; lamina narrow-elliptic or narrow-oblong to linear, 1–10 cm long, 2.5–9 mm wide, margin recurved to revolute, upper surface ± smooth or with veins raised and often with projections, glabrous or hairs along midrib or rarely scattered. Inflorescences mostly of 2 flowers, sessile; pedicel 1–2 (–4) mm long, bract 0.6–2 mm distal to base; bract and bracteoles orbicular, ovate, narrow-ovate or lanceolate, 1–5 mm long. Calyx 3–5.5 mm long, tube 2–3 mm long, upper lip c. 3 mm wide. Standard 7–10 mm long, flare yellow or sometimes entirely purple; wing 2.5–4 mm wide. Pod moderately hairy, sessile. Aril of seed 3–4.5 mm long, not expanded distally, hilum c. 2–3 mm long.
