Characteristics

Subshrub to 0.7 m tall, usually straggling, weak to ascending; indumentum brown to grey, the hairs appressed or spreading. Leaves: stipules 2 mm long; petiole 1–3 mm long; lamina elliptic, narrow-ovate to lanceolate or linear, (0.8–) 2–8 cm long, 3–36 mm wide, margin entire, crisped or crenulate, recurved, upper surface ± smooth, glabrous or pubescent. Inflorescences of flowers, sessile or short-pedunculate; pedicel 1–7 mm long, bract inserted at base; bract and bracteoles lanceolate, 2–3 mm long. Calyx 6.1–11.7 mm long, tube 2–4.5 mm long, upper lip 5–11 mm wide. Standard 10.8–20.2 mm long, flare white, wing 3.1–8 mm wide, vexillary staminal filament sometimes free, ovary 2-to 7-ovulate. Pod glabrous, stipe 5–6 mm long. Aril of seed 3.5–4 mm long including a long distal extension, hilum c. 1–1.5 mm long.
