Characteristics

Dioicous, pale green. Stem to 15 mm long and 100 µ wide, branches ventral, numerous long and thin stolons, usually without rhizoids. Cortical cells 2-50 x 60-110 µ. Cross section rounded; 6 large oilier cells. Leaves obovate, almost transversely-slightly obliquely (up to 20°) inserted, bilobed to 1/2, lobes subacute, longly triangular, sinus obtuse. Cells 40-50 µ, oil bodies colourless. 10-14 per cell, up to 4 x 16 µ. Amphigastria ± large, deeply bilobed, sinus obtuse. Female organs in short ventral branches. Female bracts in two pairs bilobed to 1/3, short, lobes triangular, entire-crenulate or slightly denticulate by projecting cells. Perianth cylindrical, mouth truncate, wide, cremilated by long cells. Spores 11-12 µ, pale brown, papillose. Elaters 10 x 150-200 µ. Seta with 8 large outer cells and up to 14 smaller interior cells.
