Cormous geophyte, 10-20(-25) cm, with a fibrous neck. Leaves (4-)8-12, lanceolate, falcate, folded together lengthwise, twisting apically, sparsely to densely hairy mainly beneath, hairs stellate or 2-armed, in tufts, turning pale to reddish brown. Flowers 2-7, yellow.
