Characteristics

Tree to 25 m high, glabrous except sometimes short hairs on pedicels. Bark grey. Leaves: lamina oblong, elliptic or obovate, 7.5–13.5 cm long, 2.5–5.5 cm wide, attenuate or rounded at base, entire margin, obtuse or obtusely acuminate apex, discolorous, dull above; petiole 10–15 mm long. Cymes umbelliform, 3–9-flowered; male cymes several on an axillary rachis to 30 mm long; female cymes single on axillary peduncles 8–12 mm long. Flowers 6–8-merous. Sepals c. 1.5 mm long, free in upper half. Petals 3–4 mm long. Stamens as long as petals; anthers less than 1 mm long. Drupe depressed-globular or spherical, 4–5 mm diam., green-white, of 12–16 smooth lenticular pyrenes.
