Characteristics

Plants annual, 30-80 cm tall, succulent. Stem erect, glabrous, branched, prostrate basally, nodes with adventitious roots. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.5-2 cm; leaf blade ovate, narrowly ovate, or ovate-lanceolate, 2-7 × 1-3 cm, with few pairs of glands at basal margin, lateral veins 6-8 pairs, base cuneate or broadly cuneate, margin coarsely serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences axillary, 1-3-flowered; peduncles 1.5-2.5 cm, slender. Pedicels short, ca. 1 cm, bracteate at base; bracts narrowly lanceolate, small. Flowers yellow, small, ca. 2.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, lanceolate, small, 3-5 mm, 3-5-veined, apex cuspidate. Lower sepal navicular, narrowed into a curved, long spur. Upper petal orbicular, base obcordate, apex emarginate, mucronulate, abaxial midvein carinate; lateral united petals 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular, small; distal lobes large, apex 2-lobed. Anthers obtuse. Capsule unknown. Fl. Sep-Oct, fr. Oct-Nov.
