Plants glabrous. Stem erect; branches stout. Leaves alternate, petiolate; petiole (3-)5-6 cm; leaf blade oblong-lanceolate or linear-oblong, 10-20 × 3-4 cm, membranous, lateral veins (6 or 7 in lower leaves) 8-10 pairs, curved, base broadly cuneate to cuneate, attenuate into petiole, margin crenate-serrate or crenate-serrulate, teeth mucronulate, apex caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences 1-or 2-flowered; peduncles ca. 15 cm, stout. Pedicels bracteate at base (but appearing as if at middle); bracts narrowly lanceolate, 3-5 mm, hyaline margined. Flowers orange-yellow, 3-4 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, orbicular, 0.7-1 cm, membranous, 5-veined, apex cuspidate. Lower sepal navicular, limb ca. 1.5 cm deep, gradually narrowed into an incurved or involute spur ca. 2 cm; mouth vertical, tip acute. Upper petal broadly ovate-orbicular, ca. 1.2 cm wide, abaxial midvein fine, narrowly cristate at middle; lateral united petals broadly clawed, ca. 2.5 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular; distal lobes broadly dolabriform, longer; auricle inflexed, reniform. Filaments slender; anthers obtuse. Ovary fusiform. Capsule not seen. Fl. Aug-Sep.
