Plants perennial, 60-70 cm tall, glabrous. Stem erect, sometimes prostrate, remotely branched, with adventitious roots at lower nodes. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.8-2.7 cm; leaf blade greenish abaxially, dark green adaxially, elliptic to elliptic-oblanceolate, 8-18 × 2.5-5.5(-7) cm, lateral veins 5-9 pairs, adaxially with 3 or 4 pairs of basal glands, base cuneate, attenuate into petiole, margin shallowly crenate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, racemes lax, (3 or)4-7-flowered; peduncles ascending, shorter than leaves, 3.7-6.6 cm. Pedicels 2-3.4 mm, bracteate at base; bracts caducous, ovate-oblong, 4-7 mm, membranous, apex acute. Flowers pendulous, yellowish, mouth red-tinged, and red or reddish purple spotted, large. Lateral sepals 4; outer 2: ovate, slightly inequilateral, 9-10 × 6-8 mm; inner 2: linear-oblong, 1.1-1.3 cm × 1.5-2.5 mm, membranous. Lower sepal saccate, 1.7-2.4 cm deep, ca. 2.8 cm wide, constricted into an incurved spur; spur linear, 1.5-2 cm. Upper petal subcucullate, broadly ovate or suborbicular, 1-1.3 × 1.2-1.4 cm, abaxial midvein thickened, narrowly carinate; lateral united petals clawed, 2.7-3 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes obovate-spatulate, 1.8-2.1 × 0.9-1.2 cm; distal lobes oblong-obovate, ca. 0.9 × 0.5 cm.
