Characteristics

Plants ?annual, ca. 40 cm tall. Leaves alternate, petiolate or sessile in upper leaves; petiole 2-3 cm; leaf blade elliptic, 6-9 × 2.5-3 cm, both surfaces nearly glabrous, base cuneate, margin crenate, apex acute. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, ascending, racemose, 1-or 2-flowered; peduncles 1.5-3 cm, glabrous. Pedicels 1-1.2 cm, glabrous, bracteate at base; bracts not caducous, ovate, ca. 4 mm. Flowers yellow, ca. 2 cm, ca. 2.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 4; outer 2: ovate, ca. 4 mm, apex acute; inner 2: minute, ca. 1 mm, membranous. Lower sepal yellow, navicular, narrowed into a long recurved spur, ca. 1 cm, ca. 2.6 cm deep including spur; mouth tip acute. Upper petal slightly cucullate, ovate, ca. 9 × 7 mm, apex slightly rostellate, abaxial midvein not carinate; lateral united petals yellow, ca. 1.9 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes ovate, ca. 9 × 4 mm; distal lobes curved, narrowly elliptic, ca. 1.4 × 0.3 cm, apex rounded; auricle slightly inflexed, narrow. Anthers obtuse. Capsule ?linear. Fl. Oct. 2n = 18*.
