Characteristics

Plants annual, succulent, 40-50 cm tall. Stem slender, branched, glabrous. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.5-1 cm; leaf blade ovate, narrowly ovate, or narrowly elliptic, 5-8 × 2-4 cm, lateral veins 6-10 pairs, base broadly cuneate, margin coarsely serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences axillary, 2-flowered; peduncles 4-5 cm. Pedicels short, 0.5-1.5 cm, bracteate above middle; bracts narrowly ovate, small, ca. 5 mm, margin serrulate. Flowers white or yellow, small, ca. 1.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, ovate, 6-7 cm, abaxial midvein carinate. Lower sepal funnelform, narrowed into an incurved spur 8-10 mm. Upper petal orbicular, abaxial midvein rostellate, carinate; lateral united petals 1.2-1.4 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes ovate-orbicular; distal lobes narrowly dolabriform, apex subacute; auricle distinct. Anthers obtuse. Capsule linear. Fl. Jul-Sep, fr. Aug-Oct.
