Characteristics

Plants 10-20 cm tall, slender, glabrous. Stem erect, simple, basally long naked. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2 cm; leaf blade pale green abaxially, dark green adaxially, ovate or ovate-oblong, 4-8 × 2.5-3.5 cm, membranous, with 2 stipitate basal glands, lateral veins 6 or 7 pairs, base cuneate, attenuate into petiole, margin serrulate or crenate-mucronulate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences in leaf axils at apex of stem, 2-5-flowered; peduncles fibrous, ca. 2 cm. Pedicels short, bracteate at base; bracts linear-lanceolate, 3-4 mm, hyaline margined, midvein green. Flowers white, ca. 1 cm. Lateral sepals 2, ovate, ca. 3 mm, hyaline margined, apex acuminate. Lower sepal navicular, abruptly narrowed into a slender spur ca. 3 cm; mouth vertical, tip cuspidate, 4-5 mm. Upper petal orbicular, 4-5 mm in diam., apex retuse, rostellate, abaxial midvein thickened, cristate at middle; lateral united petals not clawed, ca. 8 mm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular; distal lobes narrowly dolabriform, ca. 3 × as long as basal lobes, apically retuse; auricle inconspicuous. Filaments broadly linear; anthers small, apex acute. Ovary linear, ca. 9 mm. Capsule linear-lanceolate, ca. 9 mm. Seeds few, brown, oblong, 2-5 mm, tuberculate. Fl. Aug.
