Epiphytic perennial to 0.5 m. tall, glabrous; stems becoming rather woody below, zig-zag above.. Leaves spirally arranged, rather thick in texture, dark green above, paler beneath; petiole 5–12 mm. long; lamina broadly to narrowly elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, 5.4–10.5 cm. long, 1.7–3.2 cm. broad, the apex acute-acuminate, the base ± cuneate; lateral veins 4–6 pairs, rather inconspicuous; margin with a few small well-spaced serrate teeth, and 1–3(–4) pairs of dark glands, ± 1 mm. long, near the base.. Flowers solitary, scarlet, epedunculate.. Bracts subulate, ± 2 mm. long, inconspicuous.. Pedicels 2.7–4.2 cm. long, slender.. Lateral sepals linear-lanceolate or narrow-triangular, ± 2.5 mm. long, acute.. Lower sepal bucciniform, 9–10 mm. long, gradually narrowed and incurved into the spur, 34–38 mm. long overall, acute at tip.. Dorsal petal 8–9 mm. long, 5 mm. broad, cucullate, dorsally with a broad crest ending in a short obtuse point..
