Leaves spirally arranged, rarely subopposite, rather thin, pale green veined and tinged crimson-purple beneath; petiole 1–4.5 cm. long, finely glandular-pubescent; lamina ovate to oblong-lanceolate or oblong, 5–12 cm. long, 3–6.5 cm. broad, the apex acute, sometimes ± acuminate, the base cordate, rounded or ± truncate; scattered pubescent above, with a few hairs on the midrib and main veins beneath; margin coarsely crenate-dentate to denticulate; lateral veins 5–11 pairs.. Inflorescence a 3–6-flowered subumbellate raceme; flowers pink or violet.. Peduncle 5.5–8 cm. long, finely glandular-pubescent.. Bracts linear-lanceolate, 2–3 mm. long, acute..
