Characteristics

Plants annual, 30-60 cm tall. Stem erect, branched in upper part. Leaves alternate, shortly petiolate, upper leaves sessile; leaf blade ovate or oblong, 5-10 × 3-4.5 cm, with few glandular hairs at base (?with few stipitate glands), base broadly cuneate, margin obtusely crenate-serrate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences axillary, 2-or 3-flowered; peduncles short, 1-2 cm. Pedicels bracteate at base; bracts ovate-lanceolate, 3-4 mm. Flowers yellowish. Lateral sepals 2, suborbicular, often oblique, 4-5 mm in diam., hyaline margined, apex mucronulate. Lower sepal inside of throat brown spotted, funnelform, limb ca. 1.2 cm deep, elongated into an incurved spur 1.6-1.7 cm deep; mouth vertical. Upper petal orbicular or oblate, 6-8 mm wide, abaxial midvein carinate; lateral united petals ca. 1.5 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes obovate-oblong; distal lobes broadly dolabriform, larger. Filaments flattened; anthers acute. Capsule linear, ca. 1.5 cm. Fl. Aug-Oct.
