Characteristics

Plants annual, ca. 20 cm, glabrous. Stem long prostrate basally, stout, simple. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2 cm; leaf blade ovate or ovate-elliptic, 5-7 × 2.5-3.5 cm, lateral veins 6 or 7 pairs, base attenuate into petiole, margin crenate-serrate or serrate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 2-or 3-flowered; peduncles short, 1.5-2 cm. Pedicels 0.5-1 cm, bracteate at base; bracts persistent, ovate-lanceolate, small. Flowers yellow, to 2.5 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, falcate-ovate, 3-5 mm, 3-veined, midvein apically stoutly mucronulate. Lower sepal subnavicular, limb ca. 1.5 cm deep, narrowed into an incurved spur; spur ca. 2 cm, acute or divaricate; mouth vertical, tip acuminate. Upper petal orbicular, ca. 1.5 cm in diam., base cordate, apex retuse, abaxial midvein fine, narrowly carinate; lateral united petals ± clawed, sessile, ca. 2.2 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular, small; distal lobes clawed, dolabriform, apically retuse; auricle reniform. Filaments short; anthers acute. Ovary erect, fusiform. Capsule linear, ca. 1.5 cm. Fl. Aug.
