Characteristics

Plants erect, 25-50 cm tall. Stem terete, branched in upper part; branches ascending. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.5-2.5 cm; leaf blade lanceolate-elliptic, 4-10 × 1.3-3 cm, membranous, glabrous, lateral veins 4 or 5 pairs, base cuneate-obtuse or attenuate, margin crenate, teeth emarginate or truncate, mucronulate, apex acuminate. Flowers solitary, rarely 2; peduncles recurved, 1.5-4.5 cm, slender. Pedicels 2-bracteate above middle; bracts linear or ovate, 2-4 mm. Flowers yellow, pink or reddish spotted. Lateral sepals 2, ovate-orbicular, 6.5-7 mm, 7-or 8-veined, apex mucronulate. Lower sepal broadly funnelform, 1.5-2 cm deep, abruptly constricted into a spur; spur incurved, ca. 2.5 cm, 2-lobed; mouth vertical, ca. 6 mm wide, tip cuspidate. Upper petal suborbicular, ca. 1.1 cm, apex rostellate, abaxial midvein thickened, cristate; lateral united petals clawed, 1.5-2 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes ovate, narrow, apex with a long filamentous hair; distal lobes dolabriform, apex obtuse. Filaments flattened, 4-4.5 mm; anthers ovoid, apex obtuse. Ovary fusiform, ca. 4.5 mm. Capsule linear, ca. 2.2 cm. Seeds many, oblong, ca. 3 mm, glabrous. Fl. Jul-Aug.
