Characteristics

Plants 10-20 cm tall, slender, glabrous. Stem erect, simple or procumbent in lower part, long naked in lower part, remotely leaved. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2 cm, slender; leaf blade pale green abaxially, dark green adaxially, ovate, 3-4 × 2-2.5 cm, membranous, lateral veins 3 or 4 pairs, base attenuate into petiole, margin coarsely crenate or crenate-serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences 1-flowered; peduncles fibrous, 4-5 cm, 5-6 cm at fruiting. Pedicel bracteate below flower; bracts persistent, small. Flowers ?pink, ca. 2.5 cm wide. Lateral sepals 2, obliquely ovate, ca. 4 mm, inequilateral, base subcordate, hyaline margined, apex stoutly mucronulate, abaxial midvein carinate or cristate. Lower sepal narrowly funnelform, ca. 2.5 cm deep, narrowed into an incurved spur; spur long, acute; mouth oblique, tip mucronulate. Upper petal orbicular, ca. 8 mm in diam., base cordate, apex retuse, abaxial midvein shortly cristate; lateral united petals shortly clawed, 1.1-1.5 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes tetragonous, small; distal lobes broadly dolabriform, very large, apically retuse; auricle conspicuous. Filaments linear, short; anthers obtuse. Ovary erect. Capsule (immature) linear, ca. 2.5 cm. Seeds ?many. Fl. Aug.
