Characteristics

Annual (sometimes woody) herb, stems prostrate, mat-forming, silvery appearance due to dense, whitish, biramous hairs. Leaves 3-5-foliolate, leaflets alternate. Terminal leaflet 4-12(20) mm long, obovate to cuneate. Inflorescences 3-7(9)-flowered racemes congested in the leaf axils ± equalling to shorter than the subtending leaf, bracts caducous; peduncles ± 1 mm long. Flowers pink to purple. Calyx 3-4 mm long, with lanceolate-lobes ± equalling the tube. Stamens (4)5-6 mm long, exceeding the calyx. Style 3-4 mm long. Flowering time Dec.-July. Pod 9-20 mm long, spreading to reflexed, terete to nodiform, slightly curved.
