Characteristics

Rhizomatous suffrutex, up to 0.3 m high, stems decumbent, angular, hirsute-strigose, hairs unequally biramous. Stipules 2.5-16 x (1.5)2.0-9.0 mm, amplexicaul, asymmetrically ovate-cordate. Leaves digitately 3-foliolate; petioles 2-7 mm long. Terminal leaflet 4-26 x 4-11 mm, obovate-cuneate, apex ± rounded, both surfaces hispid-strigose, midrib and marginal vein prominent below, surfaces discolorous, paler below. Inflorescences of 40-160 mm long, (15)20-40(60)-flowered racemes; peduncle 20-100 mm long; pedicels 1-2 mm long, slender. Flowers 6.5-8.0 mm long, deep pink to brick-red; calyx 2.5-5.0(5.5) mm long, hirsute-strigose; lobes lanceolate to subulate, ± equalling to 3x tube length; standard dorsally glabrous. Stamens (4.0)4.5-7.0 mm long. Flowering time Oct.-Jan. Pod immature, deflexed.
