Stout erect woody herb up to 70 cm. tall; stems slightly ridged, very densely strigulose.. Stipules subulate, setaceous-tipped, ± 3 mm. long; rhachis channelled above, sparsely strigulose, up to 8 cm. long, including a petiole of ± 2 cm., prolonged 2–3 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets; stipellae minute; petiolules 1 mm. long; leaflets 7–15, cuneate, elliptic-oblong, emarginate in lower leaves, rounded in the upper, up to 19 mm. long and 9 mm. wide, sparingly strigulose beneath, glabrous above.. Racemes many-flowered, sessile, up to 3.5 cm. long; axis strigulose; bracts linear-lanceolate, ± 1 mm. long, very caducous; pedicel ± 1 mm. long, strongly reflexed after flowering.. Calyx strigulose, ± 1.3 mm. long; lobes subulate-tipped, about as long as the tube.. Corolla golden-brown strigulose outside.. Stamens ± 3 mm. long.. Pod brown, indehiscent, or the valves rupturing irregularly, not torulose, obtuse-apiculate, up to 6 mm. long, 3 mm. wide, 2.5 mm. thick; dorsal suture ± 1.5 mm. wide; endocarp brown, the spots confluent.. Seeds 1–2 or rarely 3, rounded-cuboid.
