Characteristics

Much-branched, erect, woody shrublets 0.3-0.8 m high, branches virgate, densely leafy. Stems ribbed, sparsely strigose, brown to silvery grey, splitting and exfoliating longitudinally. Leaves digitately 3-foliolate, subfleshy to leathery, glaucous; petioles 0.5-7.0 mm long. Terminal leaflet (6)8-20 x 0.5-3.0(5.0) mm, narrowly oblanceolate to linear, glabrous above, sparsely strigose below, apex acute to obtuse. Inflorescences of 5-45 mm long racemes, usually subsessile, ± equalling (sometimes longer than) the leaves, 5-40(50)-flowered; pedicels 1-3 mm long. Flowers pink to mauve; calyx 1.5-2.5(3.0) mm long, strigose, lobes triangular, ± shorter than tube; standard softly white pubescent dorsally. Stamens 6-7 mm long. Ovary densely strigose. Flowering time Apr.-Nov. Pod 17-24 x 2-3 mm, dark brown, strigose.
