Shrubby herb up to 3 m. tall; young branches purplish, densely covered with short white biramous hairs spreading at the tips.. Stipules narrowly triangular, erect, up to 1.5 mm. long; leaf-rhachis, including the 2–5 mm. petiole, up to 25 mm. long, prolonged 2–5 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets 5–9, narrowly oblong-elliptic, mucronate, up to 15 mm. long and 4 mm. wide, appressed strigulose on both surfaces.. Racemes many-flowered, up to 7 cm. long, including a peduncle of up to 12 mm.; bracts lanceolate, ±1.5 mm. long, very caducous; pedicels ± 1 mm. long.. Calyx appressed silky puberulent with both white and golden-brown hairs, ± 2 mm. long; lobes narrowly triangular, 1.5 mm. long, spreading like a star in the fruiting stage.. Corolla appressed puberulent outside with both white and golden hairs.. Stamens 4–5 mm. long.. Style ± 3.5 mm. long, curved through 90° rather above the middle.. Pods spreading, subcylindrical, ending in a beak 0.5 mm. long, up to 20 mm. long, ± 1.8 mm. wide, their pale brown colour not hidden by the short crisped white hairs, 2–7-seeded; endocarp not spotted.. Seeds ellipsoid, golden-brown, smooth.
