Characteristics

Annual up to 40 cm. tall with a rather sparse indumentum of more or less appressed white biramous hairs and also numerous rather long slender erect yellowish or reddish multicellular hairs, which may or may not be obscurely gland-tipped, and are 1–3 mm. long on the stems, 0.8–1.5 mm. long on the leaf-rhachis, inflorescence-axis, calyx and fruit and absent from the leaflets.. Leaves 7–15-foliolate; stipules linear-filiform, spreading, up to 6 mm. long; rhachis up to 4 cm. long including a petiole of 10–16 mm. usually longer than the basal leaflets, prolonged beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets elliptic or oblong-elliptic, 7–10 mm. long, 2–4 mm. wide, 2–5 times as long as wide.. Racemes 10–30-flowered, up to 4 cm. long, rather lax in the fruiting stage, the peduncle shorter than the fertile portion of the axis; bracts linear-lanceolate, up to 2 mm. long, caducous; pedicels up to 1 mm. long.. Calyx ± 2 mm. long, deeply divided for most of its length into subulate-filiform lobes.. Corolla pubescent outside, ± 3 mm. long.. Stamens 2–3 mm. long.. Style bent sharply upwards, 1.2–1.7 mm. long.. Pod straight, spreading, 7–12 mm. long, ±1.5 mm. wide and thick; endocarp spotted.. Seeds 4–8.
