Characteristics

Prostrate or decumbent suffrutex, up to 0.4 m high; stems angular, appressed canescent-strigillose. Stipules 1-3 mm long, subulate-falcate. Leaves: rachis sometimes extended to 1 mm beyond lateral leaflets; petioles (3)4-20 mm long. Terminal leaflet (3)4-28 x 1-5 mm, oblong, oblanceolate or elliptic, ± complicate, strigose above, more densely strigose below, apex ± rounded, mucronate. Inflorescences of 20-90 mm long, 10-20(25)-flowered racemes; peduncle 10-40(45) mm long; pedicels 0.5-1.0 mm long. Flowers 8.0-10.5 mm long, orange-red; calyx 2-3 mm long, appressed canescent-strigillose; lobes triangular, ± equalling tube; standard moderately densely crisped pubescent dorsally; keel apex rostrate. Stamens (5.5)6.0-7.0 mm long. Flowering time May-Nov. Pod 14-24 x 2.0-2.5 mm.
