Characteristics

Shrublet about 50 cm. tall, the branches densely appressed silvery.. Stipules subulate, ± 2 mm. long; petiole normally 2–3 mm. long; rhachis normally not, or ± 1 mm. only, prolonged beyond lateral leaflets; leaflets usually 3, cuneate-obovate, apiculate, ± 12 mm. long and 7 mm. wide, strigulose above, strigose beneath, the midrib impressed above.. Racemes silvery, 10–20-flowered, up to 6 cm. long, including a peduncle of up to 2 cm.; bracts lanceolate, ± 1.5 mm. long, caducous; pedicels ± 1.5 mm. long, strongly reflexed in fruit.. Calyx ± 2.5 mm. long; lobes triangular-acuminate, rather longer than the tube.. Corolla white strigulose outside.. Stamens 3–4 mm. long.. Ovary up to 12-ovulate, densely strigose.. Fruit arcuate or circinate, with flattened gaps between the 5–8 oblong seeds, up to 3 cm. long, ± 1.8 mm. wide and 1.4 mm. thick.. Seeds yellow streaked with purple, smooth, rounded oblong, bluntly rhombic in cross section, ± 2.3 × 1.2 × 1.0 mm.
