Characteristics

Perennial. Stems erect, 18-35 cm high, 3-4 mm, thick below, more or less grooved, with an adpressed whitish pubescence on the upper part, and more or less beset with short spreading setae on the lower part. Leaves rather crowded, ascending and somewhat overlapping, 1.5-2 cm long; leaflets 3-5, the lateral opposite, 10-16 mm long, 3-6 mm broad, lanceolate, acute, with a short awn-like point, obtuse or cuneate at the base, adpressed-pubescent on both sides, and with the margins at the apical part and often the midrib beneath scabrid with minute points or setae. Racemes shorter than or about equalling the leaves, 1-1.5 cm long, 4-10-flowered. Calyx-lobes 3.5-4 mm long, subulate. Corolla about 5 mm long; standard adpressed-pubescent on the back.
