Characteristics

Resprouting, decumbent to erect, often glaucous suffrutex, up to 2 m high, stems angular, strigose to glabrous. Stipules (3)4-20(24) x (1.5)2.0-6.0(9.0) mm, leaving annular sheath scars; obliquely ovate. Leaves with petioles 2-11 mm long. Terminal leaflet (4)5-35(38) x (2)3-16(18) mm, broadly to narrowly obovate, both surfaces strigillose or one side glabrous and the other strigose. Inflorescences of 20-120 mm long, densely (15)20-60(70)-flowered racemes; peduncle 9-24 mm long; pedicels 1-2 mm long. Flowers 7.0-9.5(10.5) mm long, pink to deep pink; calyx 2.0-3.5 mm long, glabrous, sometimes with sparse hairs; lobes triangular to lanceolate, ± equalling the tube; standard glabrous dorsally; keel apex acute to rostrate. Stamens 5.0-7.5 mm long. Ovary glabrous. Pod 20-36(40) x 3.5 mm.
