Characteristics

Prostrate or decumbent shrublets, up to 0.2 m high; stems woody below, sparsely strigose, angular. Stipules 1-5 mm long, lanceolate-falcate. Leaves pinnately 5-13-foliolate, dark green, subsucculent, petioles 2-8(10) mm long. Terminal leaflet 3-13 x 2-6 mm, obovate-oblong to oblanceolate, glabrous or sparsely strigose above, sparsely strigose beneath, margins often involute, apex rounded to emarginate. Inflorescences of 30-170 mm long, 8-30(40)-flowered racemes; peduncle slender, 24-90 mm long; pedicels 0.5-1.5 mm long. Flowers 5.5-7.0 mm long, pink to magenta; calyx 2-3 mm long, subhirsute; lobes triangular to lanceolate, ± equalling to twice tube length; standard crisped, dorsally puberulent, keel apex obtuse. Stamens 4-5 mm long. Ovary glabrous. Flowering time July-Nov. Pod 16-32 x 2.0-2.5 mm.
