Characteristics

Stems many from a woody rootstock up to 15 cm, high, erect, simple or branched, 1-1.5 mm thick, angular, adpressed-pubescent, brownish. Leaves 1.5-2 cm long; leaflets 5-9, the lateral opposite in 2-4 pairs, 12 mm long, 1.5-2 mm broad, oblong-linear, obtuse, minutely apiculate, often folded, glabrous above. Axis of the racemes up to 1 cm long, shorter than the leaves, few-flowered. Calyx not a quarter of the length of the corolla, with lobes 1-1.5 mm long, deltoid or deltoid-subulate. Corolla 10-11 mm long; standard shorter than the keel, densely adpressed-pubescent with whitish hairs on the back, and apparently paler in colour than the purple keel.
