Differs from I. emarginella in the more slender less erect unridged floriferous stems, which are usually short shoots on older stems showing next year’s buds in fruiting specimens.. Leaflets 3–5 or rarely 7.. Inflorescence rarely over 2 cm. long, with up to 20 flowers, its axis hardly ridged and hardly thicker than the scarcely reflexed fruiting pedicel.. Indumentum of calyx relatively sparse, often white.. Standard caducous.. Stamens ± 4 mm. long.. Pod up to 28 mm. long.
