Characteristics

Erect or prostrate branching annual or short-lived perennial, up to 70 cm. tall from a taproot, everywhere covered with long hairs, which are mostly brownish and erect but white and ± appressed on the leaf-surfaces.. Stipules narrowly lanceolate-acuminate, up to 8 mm. long and 1.5 mm. wide at the base; leaflets 1–5, elliptic-oblong, up to 23 mm. long and 12 mm. wide.. Racemes laxly 5–20-flowered, up to 7 cm. long including a peduncle of up to 3 cm., stiffly hirsute throughout; bracts linear, ± 3 mm. long, very caducous; pedicels 1 mm. long.. Calyx divided almost to the base, with linear lobes 4.5 mm. long.. Corolla hirsute outside.. Stamens ± 3.5 mm. long.. Pods tetragonal-subcylindric, 12–20 mm. long, ± 1.8 mm. wide, pubescent, 6–10-seeded; endocarp spotted.
