Characteristics

Prostrate to scrambling-erect suffrutex, 0.1-0.4 m high; stems strongly ribbed, densely appressed subcanescent-strigillose. Stipules 1-3 x 1 mm, ± lanceolate, decurrent. Leaves pinnately 3-9(11)-foliolate; petioles 0-6 mm long. Terminal leaflet sessile or on rachis extending to 1 mm beyond distal leaflet pair, (4)6-30 x 1-4 mm, linear-oblong or oblanceolate, apex rounded, both surfaces ± densely subcanescent-strigillose. Inflorescences of 30-160 mm long, (15)20-60-flowered racemes; peduncle (8)10-22 mm long; pedicels 0.5-2.0 mm long. Flowers 5.5-7.5 mm long, red to orange-red; calyx 3.0-3.5(4.5) mm long, ± densely subcanescent strigillose; lobes ± stiffly lanceolate-subulate, > 2x longer than tube; standard dorsally strigose; keel apex obtuse. Stamens (4.5)5.0-6.0 mm long. Ovary densely strigose. Flowering time Aug.-Apr. Pod 14-30 x 2 mm.
