Characteristics

Erect to scrambling, clump-forming suffrutex, 0.3-0.8 m high; stems woody below, much-branched above, wiry, angular, densely appressed strigose. Stipules 0.5-2.5(3.5) mm long, subulate. Leaves pinnately (5)7-11-foliolate, rachis (3)5-22(40) mm long; petioles 0.5-8.0(16.0) mm long. Terminal leaflet (2)3-9(10) x 1.0-3.5(4.5) mm, linear-oblanceolate to obovate, apex ± rounded, both surfaces strigose, differently sized hairs below. Inflorescences of (0.7)1.0-25.0(60.0) mm long, ± densely (3)5-15(30)-flowered racemes; peduncle (2.5)4.0-9.0(15.0) mm long; pedicels ± 1 mm long. Flowers 5-6 mm long, carmine-red; calyx 3.0-4.5 mm long, ± densely strigose, with scattered gland-tipped hairs; lobes lanceolate; standard dorsal surface hyaline strigose, keel apex obtuse. Stamens 4-5 mm long. Flowering time Feb., Mar. Pod 3-11 x 2 mm, straight, cylindrical, hyaline strigillose and with gland-tipped hairs.
