Delicate branching annual up to ± 25 cm. tall.. Stems cylindrical, almost glabrous.. Stipules foliaceous, with long subsimple hairs on their margins, ending in a fine point which is gland-tipped when young; petiole filiform, up to 9 mm. long, jointed 1 mm. below the lamina, which is elliptic, apiculate, up to 13 mm. long and 10 mm. wide, and sparsely covered with short appressed hairs on both surfaces.. Peduncles glabrous, 1-or less often 2-flowered, filiform, up to 9 mm. long, numerous in the axils of reduced leaves whose laminas as well as their stipules end in conspicuous glandular filiform tips; pedicels 0.5–0.8 mm. long, pilose; bracts not seen; calyx deeply divided, a little shorter than the 2 mm. long stamens.. Pod cylindrical, up to 5 mm. long, ± 1.2 mm. wide, glabrous, 1–5-seeded.. Seeds orange-yellow, quadrangular; ± 0.7 by 0.8 mm.
