Characteristics

Branching rather woody herb up to 130 cm. tall; stems slender, cylindrical, reddish, sparingly strigulose.. Stipules subulate, ± 2 mm. long; rhachis subcylindrical, flattened above, sparingly strigulose, up to 9 cm. long, including a petiole of up to 15 mm., prolonged up to 7 mm. beyond the last leaflet-pair; stipellae subulate, ± 0.5 mm. long; petiolules ± 2 mm. long; leaflets 9–13, elliptic-lanceolate, apiculate, up to 20 mm. long and 11 mm. wide, drying blackish, sparsely strigulose on both surfaces.. Racemes many-flowered, sessile, up to 10 cm. long, sparsely strigulose; bracts linear-lanceolate, ± 1 mm. long, very caducous; pedicels ± 1 mm. long, strongly reflexed after flowering.. Calyx brown strigulose, ±1.2 mm. long; lobes triangular, rather longer than the tube.. Corolla densely brown strigulose outside.. Pod brown, subcylindrical, straight, apiculate, up to 2 cm. long, ± 2.3 mm. wide, sparsely strigulose, 5–6-seeded; endocarp spotted.
