Characteristics

Resprouting suffrutex, 0.1-0.3 m high; rhizomatous, stems slender, angular, ascending to erect, strigose. Stipules (4)6-17 x 1.5-2.5 mm, leaving annular sheath scars, obliquely lanceolate-acuminate, apex subaristate. Leaves with petioles 2-5 mm long. Terminal leaflet (6)8-40(50) x 13-4(5) mm, linear-to lanceolate, apex acute to subaristate; upper surface with coarsely biramous hairs, discolorous; lower surface glabrous, venation prominent, margins inrolled. Inflorescences of 30-140 mm long, densely (15)20-60(70)-flowered racemes; peduncle 10-60(75) mm long; pedicels 0.5-1.5 mm long. Flowers 8-9 mm long, pink to deep pink; calyx 3.0-3.5 mm long, glabrous; lobes ± triangular, ± equalling the tube; standard dorsally glabrous; keel apex ± acute. Stamens 6-7 mm long. Flowering time Sept.-Feb. Pod immature, spreading.
