Characteristics

Woody-stemmed subshrub, 0.2-0.4 m high; rootstock woody, stems prostrate to ascending, angular, ± densely appressed silvery strigose. Stipules 0.5-1.0 mm long, deltoid. Leaves pinnately 5-11(13)-foliolate, rachis 2-20 mm long, leaflets mostly 2 mm or more apart; petioles 0.5-2.5 mm long. Terminal leaflet 5-15 x 1-2 mm, linear-oblanceolate, apex ± obtuse; sparsely to densely strigose, paler green above, densely appressed silvery strigose beneath. Inflorescences of 15-45 mm long, laxly 6-15(20)-flowered racemes; peduncle 7-16 mm long; pedicels (1.5)2.0-4.0 mm long. Flowers 7-8 mm long, red; calyx 3-4 mm long, densely strigose; lobes narrowly lanceolate-subulate, 1.5-2.5x tube length; standard ferruginous to dark brown strigose dorsally; keel apex obtuse. Stamens 6-7 mm long. Flowering time Nov.-Feb. Pod 18-26 x 2 mm.
