Characteristics

Reseeding shrublet, 0.3-1.0 m high; stems woody, the many long-branches erect, wiry, ± closely parallel, indumentum strigillose and with biramous hairs on raised gland-like epidermal papillae. Stipules tooth-like, up to 1 mm long. Leaves 5-7(9)-foliolate, densely fascicled, subsessile or petioles up to 1 mm long. Terminal leaflet 4-16 x 0.5-1.5 mm, linear, glossy foveolate-subrugulate above, sparsely strigose below, keeled, subcomplicate, margins slightly revolute, apex acute. Inflorescences of 5-15 mm long, 3-8-flowered racemes; peduncle 1-4 mm long; pedicels 1.0-2.5 mm long; plants massflowering. Flowers 6-7 mm long, pink to mauve, petals persistent; calyx 2.0-2.5 mm long, grey strigillose-puberulent; lobes triangular, shorter than to ± equalling tube; standard appressed strigillose-subsericeous dorsally, keel apex obtuse. Stamens 4-5 mm long. Ovary strigose. Flowering time Apr.-June. Pod 10-16 x 2 mm.
